A healthy diet, a healthier world

A healthy diet, a healthier world

Today there is a new nutrition reality. It is a reality where undernutrition (such as micronutrient deficiencies, stunting and wasting) , overweight, obesity and diet-related noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes and cancer now coexist in the same countries, communities, households and even individuals. This is what is called the double burden of malnutrition which impacts not only our health but also that of future generations, the health of our planet and our economies.

This video is designed to help viewers better understand this double burden of malnutrition and its drivers. It aims to raise awareness and contribute to the global dialogue and much needed new narrative and action to achieve better health through nutrition.

  1. Is it bad that I found this looking up healthy diet UK because American version just doesn’t get it across the same way

  2. I eat very healthy, but there are some days when I eat unhealthy. I usually eat fruit and fruit-flavored foods for breakfast. I only drink Diet Coke in the mornings and early afternoons so I can stay awake and alert and not feel too tired and drowsy. When Daddy was a little boy, his parents usually fed him junk food, desserts, and very little fruits and vegetables. Growing up, he maintained his unhealthy diet. When he was only 37 years old, he suffered from a heart attack. At 54 years old, he had a stroke. Now, he’s 66 years old and lives in the local nursing home.

  3. I eat fruits every day, etc kiwis, apples and grapes that I eat most, I eat soup that is healthy nearly most of the week, sometimes it has milk in it, sometimes I eat beans, around 2-3 times a week, I sometimes eat meat that has a bit of protein, but yes I’m like an ordinary guy and eats junk food, mostly eat hot dogs and pizza, so idk how to stop the fact I’m a picky eater as well

  6. If you want healthy food you need to to look at TRADITIONAL food.
I wished scientists and doctors focused more on traditional food.
The healthiest food in the world is right there in history books.
Because traditional food was born out of hunger, out of necessity.
Traditional food is survival food, the food that survived the test of time, the food that allowed entire populations to survive periods of hunger.
So traditional food is usually extremely healthy, nutritious, cheap and abundant.
But traditional food usually can taste very bad, sometimes being outright vile and repugnant.
You look at any country in the world, they usually have some kind of traditional food.
But when you look at when that food was created or invented, it is usually in times of extreme hunger, poverty, crisis, war, plague, disease, etc.
Traditional food is usually the only food available for entire populations to survive in times of hunger.
So the food needs to be healthy, nutritious, cheap and abundant, but not necessarily tasty.
In times of plenty most people tend to underestimate, look down or even despise traditional food because it doesn’t taste good. But that is really a big mistake, because that is the food that humanity needs to rely on in times of hunger. So it is really important to keep and preserve traditional food, not matter how repugnant that food may be.
In Sweden they have something called surstromming, a kind of fermented fish, that is considered by many to be the stinkiest food in the world. The smell is so bad that makes you want to throw up.
How is it possible that people eat such a thing?
But surstromming has existed for hundreds of years, is extremely nutritious, healthy and cheap.
And most certainly it was invented by starving people in times of extreme hunger and poverty.
The biggest problem about traditional food is that it may difficult to replicate in other countries, because it may not taste good and the ingredients may not be as cheap or abundant in different regions or countries.
